Transformation of the World of Work: Challenges and Legal Perspectives Explored by Lawyers Pellerano & Herrera

Santo Domingo, DR. In response to the new paradigms of the labor market after the pandemic, the signing of lawyers Pellerano & Herreradedicated the fourth installment of his cycle of conversations PH LawNext to address the issue of “Transformation of the world of work: challenges and legal perspectivess”.

The panel included the participation of prominent professionals such as the General Director of Labor of the Ministry of Labor, Andrés Valentín; the Executive Director of the human management firm Unique Management Solutions, Ingrid Martínez, and the lawyer specializing in labor law Joaquín Luciano de Luciano and Associates. Sheila Oviedo, partner at Pellerano & Herrera, served as moderator, leading an uplifting conversation about the challenges posed by the new dynamics of the post-pandemic world of work in the legal, management, and talent retention fields.

In his speech, Mr. Valentín explained the challenges that the State faces with the transformation of the labor market and how the Ministry of Labor has adjusted its processes to adapt to the new demands. Likewise, he reflected on the preparation that legal professionals, lawyers and judges must have to face these changes.

For his part, the specialist Luciano spoke about the challenges faced by labor lawyers and judges and the trends that will shape the future of the exercise of labor law, as well as the aspects to be considered within the reform of the Labor Code, in view of to the new work reality. Likewise, Ms. Martínez shared about trends in hiring, work environment, talent retention and the future vision for personnel management.

In her opening remarks, Laura Pellerano, director of Marketing and Business Development of the firm, emphasized that “work is no longer a physical space but an experience that we can transfer to any place in the world,” she also reflected that “today the “Work is more flexible, collaborative and requires greater creativity and resilience, which generates social, economic and legislative opportunities.”

Taking advantage of the stage, the firm presented its renewed visual identity within the framework of its 70th anniversary, with an iconography that anticipates where it is and where it is going.

The activity brought together clients of the firm, Dominican businessmen, talent managers, members of the PH Alumni Circle and corporate advisors from prestigious institutions in the country.
