At the Transferale, current research topics and solutions from the areas of climate and health are presented. The projects invite participation and open dialogue – a platform for exchange, experimentation and tangible findings. The aim of the festival is to make Berlin more resilient and future-proof as the city of tomorrow. Visitors can take part in workshops, makeathons, science slams and other formats and discuss with experts from research and practice.
Diverse program
The topics are as diverse as the program formats. They range from sustainable urban development to innovative care concepts to solutions for Berlin’s water supply.
The BHT is involved in the following programme items, among others:

This innovative approach makes Furhat a promising tool for the future of human-robot interaction.
All program items can be found on the Transferale-Website.
The transfer and science festival is aimed at citizens, students, companies and experts who are invited to work together on future issues for Berlin. The event is free and offers the opportunity to experience research first hand and help shape it.
Designing together
Together with practical partners, the five universities of applied sciences are working on urban challenges in the areas of climate, sustainability, health and resilience across disciplines and universities in the “Future Finds City” project. In various sub-projects, researchers, companies, Berliners and actors in urban society are networking to work co-creatively on solutions for the future of Berlin and to test a new form of cooperation for Berlin.
The funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research will run for five years until 2027 with eight million euros. This was preceded by a nationwide competition process. 165 universities applied for the second funding round of the federal-state initiative. The selection committee chose 16 individual and 13 joint projects for funding, including “The future finds its way to town”.
