+++ 14 September, 11:29 a.m.: Xavi Simons apparently a candidate for England’s top clubs +++
FC Bayern will probably have to compete against well-known competition in their bid to secure the services of Xavi Simons if they want to lure the Dutchman to Säbener Straße next year.
According to “BILD” information, Manchester City and Liverpool FC are also vying for Simons in addition to the record champions. According to the report, the Skyblues see the Leipzig loanee from PSG as a possible successor to Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne.
The 33-year-old struggled with injury problems for a long time last season and has recently been linked with a move away from City. De Bruyne moved to the UK from Wolfsburg in 2015 and has since shone with 103 goals and 171 assists in 386 appearances.
Simons is still tied to Paris Saint-Germain until 2027. A permanent stay in Leipzig is considered very unlikely for financial reasons. The market value of the 21-year-old offensive artist is around 80 million euros.
+++ September 9, 10:02 a.m.: Juventus and Inter are probably scouting Schalke striker Sylla +++
Second division club FC Schalke 04 has made a lucky find in the summer transfer market with Moussa Sylla. The 24-year-old Malian has already scored three goals and provided the assist for another.
According to “Bild”, two top clubs from Italy, Juventus Turin and Inter Milan, have already expressed interest in the S04 newcomer.
According to the report, both clubs scouted Sylla during the 1:3 defeat against 1. FC Cologne before the international break. Sylla still has a long-term contract at Schalke until 2028.

+++ 7 September, 17:10: Flick wants two DFB stars for free +++
The transfer window has barely closed and Barcelona is already planning for next season. According to President Joan Laporta, the Catalans want to strengthen their central defence and midfield in the summer of 2025. Given their notoriously tight finances, they would of course prefer to do so for free.
As “Mundo Deportivo” reports, Barca coach Hansi Flick has his eye on two DFB stars whose contracts expire next summer: Jonathan Tah and Joshua Kimmich.
Tah wanted to move to FC Bayern Munich in the last transfer window, but the deal ultimately fell through due to the transfer fee demanded by Bayer Leverkusen. However, the central defender made it clear that he did not want to extend his expiring contract under any circumstances. Will he then head towards Barcelona? The club is said to have already expressed their interest to agent Pini Zahavi.
Joshua Kimmich is also – as of now – available on a free transfer in 2025. Bayern would like to extend the 29-year-old’s contract. However, a lot of trust has been lost between the player and the club in recent years. In addition, Kimmich and Flick have a great relationship.
+++ 6 September, 20:30: Werder flop Naby Keita probably about to leave +++
Werder Bremen might still be able to get rid of mega-flop Naby Keita, even though the transfer window in most of Europe’s top leagues is already closed.
As the English newspaper “Guardian” reports, the former Liverpool professional, who was never able to gain a foothold in the Weser region, is said to be in talks with the Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir about a possible transfer.
In Turkey, clubs can still sign new players until September 13, which means a move there is still possible.
The report also states that English second division club Sunderland FC recently tried to sign the midfielder, but no agreement was reached with the player.
Keita has only played 107 minutes in competitive matches for Bremen since his move in the summer of 2023. Before the end of the season, he was even suspended due to indiscipline after he left an away game without prior agreement. The scandal caused a huge outcry on the Weser.
His contract actually runs until June 30, 2026.
+++ 4 September, 07:25: Frankfurt sports director Krösche takes aim at Nadiem Amiri +++
In the now expired transfer window there were negotiations between Eintracht Frankfurt and Nadiem Amiri.
The 27-year-old explained in the “Sport Bild”: “The talks with Frankfurt were quite advanced. But at the same time, talks with Mainz were also taking place. In the end, you just have to decide. They were disappointed, but that’s just how negotiations are. In the end, I have to do what feels best for me.”
Krösche responded to these statements at a press conference with unusual harshness: “I don’t want to say too much about it. But there are situations where you as a player should just keep your mouth shut.”
“He ultimately decided on Mainz. I don’t want to go into detail about how that happened. It’s better for the player if I don’t say that,” Krösche continued.
According to “Bild”, the club and the player were said to have largely come to an agreement before Amiri wanted to renegotiate his salary. SGE then withdrew from the talks.
+++ 31 August, 0:10 a.m.: BVB loans Haller to Spain +++
A few minutes before the end of the transfer period, Bundesliga football club Borussia Dortmund has loaned center forward Sebastien Haller to Spanish first division newcomers CD Leganes for one season. The Westphalians announced this late Friday evening.
Haller moved from Ajax Amsterdam to Westphalia in 2022 and was initially slowed down by testicular cancer. After his return, the Ivorian played a total of 33 Bundesliga games (nine goals) for BVB.
Now, according to sports director Sebastian Kehl, he should “feel the joy of celebrating a goal as often as possible.”
+++ August 30, 11:30 p.m.: Gosens transfer on match day – Khedira chooses clear words +++
In the end, the three points stayed in Berlin, as the Iron Ones were able to win 1-0 against St. Pauli. The short-term transfer of Robin Gosens apparently still bothered the team.
“It’s a catastrophe. Smart people should think about it,” Union player Rani Khedira criticized the unfavorable scheduling on the “DAZN” microphone after the game.
At lunch it was still clear that he would stay in the capital and be deployed in the evening. “Two hours later, after his afternoon nap, the news came that it was working after all,” reported the 30-year-old. Gosens stood there completely distraught, “almost with tears in his eyes.”
Khedira then suggested a transfer deadline either before or after the match day to avoid such a situation in the future. It would be “very, very difficult” for a team.
The Italian top club AC Florence has confirmed the signing of Robin Gosens from Union Berlin. The winger is leaving the Köpenick club for Italy after just one season. A loan until the end of the season was initially agreed.
In the summer of 2023, Union signed the veteran for a reported 13 million euros transfer fee from Inter Milan.
