Transfer the news LIVE! Ramos’ next club; Haaland, Grealish at Chelsea FC; Sancho, the most recent Kane; Arsenal, Man Utd gossip today

We’ve been in the summer transfer window for a week now and we are seeing clubs across Europe stepping up their efforts to spend some money and refresh their squad.

Chelsea look set to be the biggest spender once again as they target a new striker, defender and midfielder. Erling Haaland and Harry Kane are dream signings, although both seem potentially out of reach, while Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish, Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Inter Milan winger Achraf Hakimi are also targets.

Manchester City are set to sign a striker after Sergio Aguero leaves, with Kane most likely to fill that void. New Tottenham manager Paulo Fonseca will desperately try to prevent this from happening, while strengthening his own squad with at least a right-back and a center-back.

Jadon Sancho is set to join Manchester United again after agreeing to personal terms, although the club saw an opening offer rejected by Dortmund. Kieran Trippier, Raphael Varane and Saul Niguez are also on the wishlist, while Sergio Ramos – who will be leaving Real Madrid this week – is a long-term target.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are apparently trying to sign Lorenzo Pellegrini, Florian Neuhaus or Pascal Gross after already adding Ibrahima Konate to their squad.

Barcelona president on Messi deal, FFP

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is convinced Lionel Messi will sign a new contract with the club … but admits money could be a problem.

Speaking during the presentation of a new documentary titled “Messi, the tenth art”, Laporta said: “Leo Messi’s shoes will continue on the Camp Nou pitch. He wants to stay.

“I am not considering no. But it’s not easy. We will do what we can. There is no need to seduce him, he is determined if there is a series of circumstances to stay. ”

Laporta said a new deal could be announced “… as soon as possible”, but said finding a way around the club’s difficult financial situation could be a problem.

“He’s fine but he hasn’t signed yet. Kun Aguero says to him every day: ‘Sign this, we will play together.’ ”

Laporta has hinted that Messi is ready to accept a smaller salary than he currently is, but that could still prove to be too expensive for the club to balance.

“In economic terms he made it very easy, but financial fair play is another battleground.”

Rafa Benitez back in Merseyside?

Several reports suggest Rafa Benitez is set to become Everton’s next manager, with the ex-Liverpool boss being a big favorite among bookies to succeed Carlo Ancelotti following the Italian’s return to Real Madrid.

Few managers would dare to take over at Everton after handling their city rivals, but Rafa holds a special place in the hearts of many in Merseyside, and would be a shrewd rendezvous for a club with a lot of money seeking to make his mark next season.
