Transfer News: Srdjan Plavšič Close to Joining Rakow Czestochowa

No surprise. A development that was to be expected. “Srdjan Plavšič is close to a transfer to Rakow Czestochowa,” reports the Polish specialized server Pilka Nožna.

Plavšič returned to Eden in the summer after a successful loan spell at Baník in Ostrava. He completed training with the staplers, but it was expected that he would leave anyway.

“Unfortunately, he was injured in training, which limited him. His contract expires in a year, we are registering interest from abroad. He is currently preparing with the team, he is part of it, and when there is a specific offer, we will discuss it with him. In a year’s time, we would be expecting a contract extension, or a possible separation,” said coach Jindřich Trpišovský on Friday, the day before the start of the league year.

The club boss was even more specific. “The Slovak champion, the Polish champion are interested in him… We prefer Plavšič to transfer. If not, then Baník would like to acquire him for a longer period of time,” Jaroslav Tvrdík explained the possible scenarios.

Plavšič’s loan spell in Ostrava was successful, where he scored five goals and nine assists. Baník continued to stand by the former Spartan, the Serbian Šikula went to Liberec to watch his match at the weekend. Hapal’s static team didn’t handle the premiership badly, the fast Plavšič would have suited him all the more.

But nothing will come of the return. “The 27-year-old Serb is a versatile footballer. He can start anywhere on the left side,” writes Pilka Nožna, stating the player’s value at around one million euros.

Czech representative Tomáš Petrášek celebrated the title with Rakow, but then headed to Korea. It is not without interest that it was České Budějovice that was eliminated by Slavia a year ago in the play-off for promotion to the Conference League.
