Transfer news LIVE! Abraham accepts the departure of Chelsea; Haaland, Kane most recent; Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool rumors

In one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer window, and of any transfer window, come to think of it, Lionel Messi was officially introduced as a PSG player after Barcelona failed to pay for a new contract. However, there could be trouble on the horizon, with reports from France suggesting that Kylian Mbappé still wants to leave Paris, and will either be sold to Real Madrid this summer or go free in 2022.

In another big deal, Chelsea have re-signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for £ 97.5m and want to add Sevilla defender Jules Kounde to their ranks. As for Manchester United, they unveiled Raphael Varane ahead of Saturday’s 5-1 loss to Leeds, while £ 73 million Jadon Sancho made his debut off the bench. Next on their list could be Erling Haaland, but they may have to wait until next summer to sign the sensation from Dortmund.

Elsewhere, Lautaro Martínez has become a target for Arsenal and Tottenham, but Inter’s sale of Lukaku means they are under less pressure to sell. The Harry Kane saga continues, meanwhile, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Man City is preparing a new £ 127 million offer… but the Spurs should be open for sale, with the two clubs facing off this weekend.

Arsenal have made a big move with the £ 50m Ben White and want another in Martin Odegaard’s first, and the Gunners have started initial talks with Real Madrid. They are also reportedly willing to listen to offers from Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Meanwhile, Liverpool want to sign Belgian striker Jeremy Doku from Rennes as they are also on the lookout for Atlético de Madrid stalwart Saúl Niguez, while Tottenham is being linked with a double hit for Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, who has been chased by West Ham.

Good morning!

Hello and welcome back to Standard Sport’s LIVE coverage of this summer’s transfer window.

We will start the morning with a summary of the latest news and rumors …

Haaland sends a timely reminder

During a transfer window in which some of the best forwards in the world have been switching clubs, it has been a quiet summer for Erling Haaland.

A fight for the signing of the Norwegian striker was expected between players like Chelsea, Manchester United and Man City, but now it looks like Haaland will stay at Borussia Dortmund for another year, and that certainly suits BVB.

With his family among the 25,000 fans in the Westfalenstadion for Dortmund’s opening game of the 2021/22 season against Eintracht Frankfurt, Haaland was in lethal and generous form.

The young forward was involved in all five of Dortmund’s goals in a 5-2 win, scoring twice and getting three more assists to underscore his star quality and bring his tally to 62 goals in 61 competitive matches for BVB.

PSG presents Messi, summer signings

Now THAT IS a transfer presentation.

PSG introduced fans at the Parc des Princes with summer arrivals Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi and Gini Wijnaldum ahead of tonight’s Ligue 1 clash against Strasbourg.

Has any club had a better transfer window?

Varane presented at Old Trafford

Raphael Varane received an excellent reception as Manchester United’s newest signing was paraded in front of a packed Old Trafford ahead of his first Premier League game against rivals Leeds.

Having announced a deal to sign the France international on July 27, the completion of the 28-year-old’s signing has been delayed by the need for a visa, isolation and medical care.

Such delays meant that Varane missed Saturday’s clash with rivals Leeds, but United announced just before kickoff that he had signed a four-year deal for a £ 34 million fee, which rises to £ 42 million with add-ons. .

The French international was introduced to the crowd nine minutes before kick-off and encountered a wall of noise as he emerged from the tunnel holding his United jersey with the number 19 on the back.

Liverpool are not bidding on Saul Niguez … yet

Saul Niguez has almost been linked with every major Premier League powerhouse over the course of another window where he has been a regular fixture in wire transfers.

The Liverpool connection appears to be the strongest, but AS is now reporting that Atlético de Madrid have yet to receive any formal offers for the Spanish international with only two weeks to go before the deadline.

Are the Reds just biding their time, or do they have someone else in mind to replace Georginio Wijnaldum?

Or maybe Jurgen Klopp is really content to do what he has …

ICYMI – Arsenal in talks on Odegaard’s return

However, one thing that might cheer Arsenal fans is the news that the club is actively trying to seal the return to North London of popular former borrower Martin Odegaard.

In case you missed it yesterday, here’s Simon Collings from Standard Sport with the latest …

Arsenal have been alerted to the possibility of reaching an agreement by Martin Odegaard, holding preliminary talks with Real Madrid.

Odegaard spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal and impressed during his time in North London.

The attacking midfielder returned to Madrid this summer after his temporary stint at the Emirates Stadium expired.

Odegaard was expected to fight for his place under new Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, but his chances seem limited.

Arsenal to entertain Aubameyang offers

Arsenal got off to a dismal start to the new season last night when they were beaten 2-0 by newly promoted Brentford in the opener of the 2021/22 Premier League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, along with fellow forward Alexandre Lacazette, missed the London derby due to illness, and The Times reports that the Gunners are ready to hear offers for their captain.

The Gabonese star only signed a lucrative new three-year, £ 55m deal last summer, but has been flattered to cheat ever since.

Harry Kane most recent

Sticking with the Spurs for now, there’s more on the Harry Kane front this morning.

Tottenham coach Nuno Espirito Santo said yesterday that he would wait until after the last training session prior to today’s game to decide on the possible availability of the England captain to face transfer applicants Manchester City tomorrow.

According to the Daily Mail, Kane will make himself available to face the club he desperately wants to join before the deadline despite the potential risks involved in terms of injury, but obviously the final decision rests with Nuno.

The Manchester Evening News adds that City could make another offer for the 28-year-old after the match.

Will Spurs beat West Ham against Milenkovic?

Tottenham’s defensive weaknesses were readily apparent to all during their struggles last season and they appear to be bent on a review.

In addition to the links with Pau Torres, Sky Sports is now reporting that Spurs are in talks with Fiorentina about a deal for Nikola Milenkovic.

West Ham had been trying to work out a deal for the Serbian international, but has reportedly walked away from the talks for now, while the wolves have also been linked.

But it is Spurs who appear to have gotten ahead of their Premier League rivals as they try to negotiate a deal with Fiorentina, having allegedly also bid for Milenkovic’s teammate and compatriot Dusan Vlahovic.

Tottenham plot the play of Pau Torres

Tottenham are ready to go through Villarreal central Pau Torres, according to the latest reports.

The Spurs remain in the defensive reinforcement market this summer as they signed Argentine international Cristian Romero from Atalanta.

They have been strongly associated with people like Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna.

However, The Times is now reporting that Spurs are set to move in for Torres, who has also been watched by Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool and played in the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea in Belfast on Wednesday night.

The Spaniard’s initial release clause of £ 46.8 million is said to have increased to £ 55.4 million due to the player reaching a certain number of senior international matches, but Spurs are reportedly hoping that Villarreal will accept a lowest bid.
