Transfer market: Ex-Wolfsburg-Knipser Weghorst before Turkey change – football

Ex-Wolfsburg Weghorst before moving to Besiktas

Former Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst (29) is apparently facing a move from Premier League relegated Burnley FC to Turkish top club Besiktas Istanbul. This is reported by the English and Turkish media.

The Dutchman left VfL Wolfsburg in January after scoring 59 goals in 118 Bundesliga games to pursue a dream of moving to England. With Burnley FC, however, he missed relegation, Weghorst scored only two goals in 20 Premier League games.

According to media reports, his English club only want to loan the Dutchman, but Besiktas also want to negotiate a purchase option. The 2021 Turkish champion is currently being coached by former Wolfsburg coach Valerien Ismael. Despite the relegation, FC Burnley is to be taken over by former HSV professional and Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.
