Arsenal is still seeking transfers for Tottenham-linked Bologna center-back Takehiro Tomiyasu, according to the latest reports.
The Spurs have had the strongest ties to a move for the 22-year-old center-back. In fact, Tottenham and Bologna have reportedly reached an “agreement in principle” on the deal. However, the fee is still the problem and the London club has reportedly prepared an increased offer to end the impasse.
Yet, Arsenal received mentions for being interested in Tomiyasu in early July.
According to Corriere dello Sport, that is still the case. In fact, the Gunners have continued conversations with the player’s entourage in the background, with the potential to make a firm move.
Chief Mikel Arteta has already beefed up his defense with Ben White, a former £ 50m Brighton player.
But like his north London rival Nuno Espirito Santo, he could fund two new additions at the rear.
Regardless, the agents from Bologna and Tomiyasu have no major preference as to where their future lies. They want to assure the Japanese international a dream move to the Premier League, at any club.
In addition to sealing the ideal player transfer, Bologna knows that Spurs or Arsenal will give them a good rate.
Still, Bologna has a certain degree of urgency about a deal. Corriere dello Sport adds that they have set a flexible deadline of August 20 for Tomiyasu to resolve his future.
He has now returned from the Olympics in his home country and can continue with his transfers.
