Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea are all keen to have 20-year-old Montpellier striker Elye Wahi in their ranks.
According to a report by Foot Mercato, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea are involved in a transfer battle over the signings of Elye Wahi. The 20-year-old French striker has been in sensational form of late and the take on him is attracting a lot of interest.
Wahi rose through the ranks at Montpellier and managed to establish himself as a regular in their first team. Although he is only 20 years old, he is the leader of his attack. The French U-21 star played a total of 33 league games last season and managed to contribute 25 goals.
He found the back of the net 19 times and also recorded six assists to his name. His outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed and even Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin has confirmed that there are 4-5 clubs after the 20-year-old.
While his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2025, he will surely join a bigger club in the current summer given the interest in his services. Meanwhile, Montpellier has made it clear that it will not do business for less than 40 million euros.
Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea are eager to have him in their ranks. The Gunners are looking to further strengthen their attack when they return to the Champions League next season. They want to make sure they have enough depth on their team and think signing Wahi could be a great move now and in the future. However, they will first need to download Folarin Balogun at the correct price.

According to the report, the Blues are pushing for Wahi’s signings as owner Todd Boehly looks to strengthen Strasbourg, the French club recently acquired by the American consortium. Boehly could look to sign him at Chelsea and then loan him out to Strasbourg for the first few years.
