Transavia Flight from Valencia to Eindhoven Airport Turned Around Due to Smoke – Passengers Safe and Accommodated

A Transavia flight that was supposed to fly from Valencia to Eindhoven Airport on Sunday evening turned around shortly after takeoff due to smoke development. A spokesperson for Transavia confirmed this.

The smoke report came from the cockpit, but after investigation it appears that there was no fire, the spokesperson said. Why there was a smoke alarm is still being investigated.

As soon as the smoke was discovered, the plane was flown back to the Spanish city as a precaution. Passengers and flight crew left the aircraft safely and unharmed. The passengers have been accommodated in a hotel and can board another Transavia flight to Eindhoven on Monday, the spokesperson said.

The Eindhoven Airport website shows that the flight from Valencia has been cancelled. The flight with flight number HV5108 was actually supposed to land at Eindhoven Airport at a quarter past ten on Sunday evening.
