Transavia and EasyJet Expand Line Offerings in France and Morocco: New Routes and Destinations Announced

The “war” of line openings rages between EasyJet and Transavia in France. If the British low-cost airline has increased new routes since the end of 2023, Transavia is not left out. The latest ones were announced this Thursday, February 15, first at Montpellieraccording to Free lunch. Two connections will open at the beginning of the summer from Montpellier-Mediterranean airport and towards Algeria and Moroccoprecisely Constantine and Rabat. From July 2 and 3, it will be possible to reach the two cities, twice a week, with tickets starting at 50 and 59 euros.

Transavia is expanding its offer for Morocco from Montpellier since they are now seven cities that are accessible : Marrakech, Fez, Casablanca, Tangier, Nador, Oujda and therefore Rabat. Recently, Montpellier airport announced new destinations for the summer, namely Istanbul, Menorca, Palma de Mallorca and Oslo, accessible via low cost airlines, whether Transavia, EasyJet, Volotea or Norwegian. “We are delighted to see that Transavia is continuing its development in Montpellier. In terms of number of destinations (fourteen this summer), Transavia thus consolidates its position as the leading company on our platform”welcomed the chairman of the airport management board, Emmanuel Brehmer.

Another connection announced in Nantes

Another city to announce the opening of two new connections: Nice. Residents of the Alpes-Maritimes will be able to travel to Faro in Portugal and Beirut in Lebanona appris Actu Nice. These two cities will be accessible with Transavia from July 17. There will be one flight per week to Beirut (Wednesday from Nice); as for Faro, two flights will be offered on Thursdays and Sundays. They are only planned, for the moment, for the summer. It will cost 42 euros for Faro, but much more expensive for Lebanon, namely at least 157 euros.

Note, according to Air Plus News, the opening of an additional Transavia line near Nantes: Tangier in Morocco. The city had already unveiled at the beginning of February the opening of two lines with EasyJet, to Naples (Italy) and Corfu (Greece). For its part, Transavia hopes to strengthen its presence in France. To date, it operates on nearly two hundred routes and one hundred and twenty destinations for summer 2024.
