Tram Utrecht derailed after collision with delivery van: ‘How do you get it done?’ | Inland

The havoc on the Herculesplein, near the FC Utrecht stadium de Galgenwaard, is enormous. The recovery of the tram will take hours, reports the Utrecht Safety Region. The overhead lines were also badly damaged. Tram traffic in Utrecht is expected to be flat all day long. Motorists and buses are diverted.

There would have been six passengers on the tram. They were released with fright and were soon taken away.

Bystanders react immediately after the accident. “How do you get it done? Not to film this ”, mumbles a man taking pictures of the derailed tram. An elderly lady does not dare to walk on. “What happened here?” She wants to know. “There’s not someone under there, is there?”
