Traffic in a section of the highway will be two-way in the direction of Sofia, even past Gerg’ovden
Traffic in the section of the Trakia highway between km 66 and 69 will be two-way from April 22 in the Sofia lane for urgent repair of expansion joints. This was announced by the press center of the Road Infrastructure Agency (API).
Crossing the Burgas lane is restricted from 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays.
The repair work is imperative to ensure safe travel on the section. Traffic restrictions in the area of the facility will continue on the upcoming holidays around May 1 and May 6 – St. George’s Day.
It is necessary for drivers to drive with caution and appropriate speed, strictly observing the posted traffic signals, warns the API.
On Saturday (April 22), between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., the movement of heavy goods vehicles over 12 tons will be restricted in the section from the 5th to the 23rd km of the Trakia highway in the direction of Burgas. For heavy goods traffic, a bypass route is provided on the first-class road Sofia – Plovdiv.
At the moment, traffic on the bridge facility at the 20th km in the direction of Burgas is carried out only in the overtaking lane, recalls the API.
The facility is in need of emergency repairs and traffic is restricted in the active and emergency lanes for preparatory work to be carried out for the upcoming road plate repairs.
