On October 24th, “Landesverräter” by Michael Krummenacher will be released in Swiss cinemas. Ascot Elite has now released a first trailer for the production, which Contrast Film has produced in coproduction with Letterbox Filmproduktion, Amalia Film, Gretchenfilm, SRF, SRG SSR, blue Entertainment, Arte & ZDF.
“Traitor” will be released in Swiss cinemas on October 24th via Ascot Elite Entertainment, one of the big local productions of the year. There is now a first trailer for the historical film from Contrast Film. The Contrast Film trio Ivan Madeo, Urs Frey and Stefan Eichenberger brought Letterbox Filmproduktion & Amalia Film (both subsidiaries of the Studio Hamburg Production Group led by Michael Lehmann) as well as Gretchenfilm, SRF, SRG SSR, blue Entertainment, Arte & ZDF on board as co-producers.
Michael Krummenacher (“Räuber Hotzenplotz”) directed and produced a screenplay he wrote with Silvia Wolkan. The cast includes Dimitri Krebs, Fabian Hinrichs, Luna Wedler, Stefan Grubser, Ernst C. Sigrist, among others.
What is it about? Contrast Film writes: “St. Gallen in World War II: Under the false impression that he can become a great singer in Germany, drifter Ernst Schrämli sells Swiss military information to a manipulative German Nazi spy. When his crime is discovered, Ernst is the first Swiss person to be sentenced to death for espionage and treason. The naive Ernst is shot by his own company at the age of 23.”
Contrast Film had previously worked successfully with Letterbox and Amalia Film on the series “Davos 1917”. The feature film “Stella. A Life” was also produced in conjunction with the company.
