Trains to Potenza: 3 month stop

A three month long ordeal. This is what is foreseen for commuters who regularly use the trains that travel along the line Battipaglia-Potenza. And June to September railway trains will no longer be able to circulate. The Italian railway network made this known in recent hours. It is necessary to proceed with maintenance, adaptation and upgrading works on the section, at the end of which the trains will travel along the line saving minutes on the current schedule. Sacrifices that will be repaid with greater speed in travel times, therefore, but which will start from 11pm on June 9th and will continue until 5am on the morning of September 8th. All regional trains traveling along the affected route will be canceled for three months.

And replaced by wheeled transport. The RFI leaders let it be known: «It will be arranged – announced by the rail giant – a detailed program of bus services in order to guarantee connections with the stations affected by changes in the trains involved». Replacement buses to cover the affected municipalities: in the Salerno area the stop concerns Battipaglia, Salerno, Eboli, Whelk, Saint Gregory the Great, Outline Terms e Sicignano degli Alburni. While waiting for the timetables of the replacement services to be released – which, however, will lead to an obvious slowdown in travel times – RFI has already released the list of stops at which it will be possible to board the buses made available. The buses will leave from the squares at the foot of the stations in Battipaglia, Salerno and Eboli, between Buccino and San Gregorio Magno near the Ferrovie dello Stato junction, in Contursi allo Scalo and in Sicignano near the Il Camionista restaurant.
