Trains in Poland will run as much as 250 km / h!

Travel between the largest Polish cities will soon be much shorter. All thanks to the modification of the Central Railway Main Line, which will be adapted to the speed of 250 km / h.

As the president of the PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe company assures, traveling by train in Poland will be much more pleasant.

Trains will accelerate up to 250 km / h, and the first test runs will probably take place in December 2023.

This is to be a consequence of the works carried out on the Central Railway Main Line, which is 224 kilometers long, starts in Grodzisk Mazowiecki and ends in Zawiercie, and runs through four voivodeships: Mazowieckie, Łódzkie, Świętokrzyskie and Śląskie

In over 2 years, several dozen minutes faster

The Central Railway Magistrala carries out journeys on the routes that connect Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Warsaw, Kraków, Katowice, Opole, Wrocław and Zawiercie. Trains can accelerate to a maximum of 200 km / h, so after modifications in more than 2 years, we will drive 50 km / h more. Thanks to this, the travel time will be shortened by several dozen minutes.

In the near future, the routes connecting other major cities in Poland will also be modernized. All because of the construction of the Central Communication Port. Then journeys across the country by trains of various carriers are to be even shorter
