Trains cannot go to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof until Sunday

A storm caused the signal booth at Dortmund Central Station to malfunction. Consequently, trains cannot enter the station until Sunday morning.

Dortmund – Serious disruption at Dortmund main train station: As reported by Deutsche Bahn on Saturday 20 August, a thunderstorm in the night around 3:40 am led to water entering the signaling booth of Dortmund main train station. “The signal booth cannot be used and trains cannot travel to Dortmund central station until further notice,” she said. Chaos in Dortmund Hbf: S-Bahn, RE and RB affected by a fault in the signal cabin

  • S1: Trains on line S1 terminate and start in Bochum Hbf or Dortmund-Dorstfeld.
  • S2: Trains from Essen Hbf / Recklinghausen Hbf end and start in Dortmund-Dorstfeld.

  • RE57: Trains of the RE57 line start and end in Fröndenberg.
  • RB59: Trains from Soest terminate and start in Dortmund-Hörde. As a result, there is a partial bankruptcy from Dortmund-Hörde to Dortmund Hbf.
  • RE1 (RRX): Trains will be diverted between Essen Hbf and Dortmund-Kurl without stopping. Unfortunately, the stops at Bochum Hbf, Wattenscheid, Dortmund Hbf and Dortmund-Scharnhorst are no longer available.
