Do you want to help people in need and keep track of things?
Do you want to control and help direct fire and rescue service operations?
Do you have a secondary school leaving certificate and are at least 18 years old?
As a control center dispatcher, you receive incoming emergency calls via “112” and are therefore the first important contact for emergency calls – whether fire, accident or medical emergency.
But your work doesn’t stop there: you actively accompany the ongoing operations, support the emergency services who are on site and coordinate their additional requests. You will also work closely with other authorities, such as the police, to ensure that operations run smoothly.
In order to be able to carry out this important task confidently, we will train you as part of our #TeamAugsburg. We teach you all the knowledge and skills that are important for this: from control center IT to fire and rescue services to crisis management. You should have a quick comprehension, decision-making ability, stress resistance and special communication skills.
The city of Augsburg operates the Integrated Control Center (ILS) on behalf of the Special Purpose Association for Emergency Services and Fire Brigade Alerting (ZRF Augsburg). The ILS is responsible for the city of Augsburg and the districts of Augsburg, Aichach-Friedberg, Dillingen and Donau-Ries and therefore for a good 940,000 residents.
The three-year training to become a state-certified dispatcher at a control center includes:
Approximately 2,100 hours of theoretical training at the vocational school for control center systems in Munich with the subjects:
- Professional environment: legal bases ILS, Fw, RD, KatS, nature of the training relationship, maintaining mental and physical health, etc
- Maintain operational readiness of the control center: IT and IT technology, quality management, personnel, emergency operations, etc.
- Call and emergency call processing: communication techniques, symptom query, damage pattern query, keywords and keywords, location determination, etc.
- Scheduling and accompanying emergency operations: measures by the fire brigade and rescue service, management organization, alarm and response orders, dispatching, alerting, operational support, etc.
- Plan and accompany other events: scheduling patient transport, information and service missions, disasters, insight into staff work
Approximately 2,500 hours of practical training in the areas of:
- ILS Augsburg
- Fire department at ZRF Augsburg
- Rescue service at ZRF Augsburg
- Hospital at ZRF Augsburg
- Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVB)
- Police operations center
Requirements:
- Completion of 18 years of age
- Proof of a secondary school leaving certificate
- Submission of a medical certificate proving the applicant’s suitability for the chosen profession, which is not older than three months at the time of registration at the vocational school,
- If school attendance is not continued immediately, the presentation of an official certificate of good conduct that is not older than three months at the time of registration,
- Proof of the positive result of the security check in accordance with Article 10 of the Bavarian Security Check Act (BaySÜG),
Current monthly compensation:
- 1st year of training €1,340.69
- 2nd year of training €1,402.07
- 3rd year of training €1,503.38

Working hours:
- Currently 39 hours/week
- 30 vacation days per calendar year
