A series of training courses organized by the ASL CN1, in collaboration with the ASL City of Turin, on the theme of autism spectrum disorders in adolescence and adulthood have started in these days, within the Ev.A. project – from developmental age to adulthood Diagnostic Therapeutic Assistance and Educational Pathways in transition, Project financed by the Autism Fund, managed by the Ministry of Health and granted to the Regions through the Istituto Superiore di Sanità.
“The project, of national scope – explains the scientific director Giuseppe Maurizio Arduino, head of the Psychology Service and of the Autism and Asperger Syndrome Center of the ASL CN1 – has the Piedmont Region as leader (scientific director for Piedmont is Roberto Keller of the Pilot Center for adult autism of the ASL City of Turin) and involves the regions of Tuscany, Abruzzo and Valle d’Aosta and the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano.
The objectives of the project are the development and testing of a diagnostic therapeutic assistance educational path (PDTAE) for autism from developmental age to adulthood, a path that is aimed, in particular, at the construction and efficient and effective management the transition phase between adolescence and adulthood in people with autism spectrum disorders. The planned training initiatives have the objective of supporting the implementation of the PDTAE even after the conclusion of the project.
Some of the courses scheduled for the period February-April 2021 are reserved for health workers of the Departments of Mental Health, Child Neuropsychiatry and Psychology Services, others are open to operators of the social welfare services, educators, teachers and parents.
