When little SV Aasen hosted a professional soccer team for the first time three years ago, Rainer Hall began to dream. “1. FC Köln was the first club in our training camp. Of course, one dreamed that one day Borussia Dortmund or FC Bayern would come, ”says the chairman of the provincial club from Donaueschingen. BVB or Bayern have never trained at SVA to this day, but things are getting even better for Hall and his club. From Thursday, FC Barcelona will be guests on the Aasen lawn between farms and fields for a few days.
“Now something like that, of course that’s mega. When we started that back then, we wouldn’t have imagined it, ”enthuses Hall. The cooperation of the SV Aasen with a noble golf hotel around the corner got around as far as Barcelona. “We mowed the lawn for them to a length of 20 millimeters, that was their wish,” reports Hall.
For several days and strictly isolated, Barça will train in Aasen – but without superstar Lionel Messi. Hall regrets that the Argentine, who is still without a contract, will be absent. “It would have been better,” smiles the club boss. “If you compare it to the music, Messi is the Michael Jackson. Of course that would have been even more insane than it is now. “
Vaccination campaign in Stuttgart
Anyone interested in the VfB test match against Barcelona on Saturday (6 p.m.) can get vaccinated against Corona at the Stuttgart Arena. The Robert Bosch Hospital and the Ministry of Health are offering a “spontaneous vaccination campaign” as part of the game, as announced by the Bundesliga club.
