Grandmother A 22-year-old girl who was going from Kerala to Goa with her friends was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unknown man. The police officer said that this incident happened when the girl was sleeping in the train and the accused had reached her. Due to the actions of the accused she woke up and became frightened; Then her friends also made noise. Then the train was near Gokarna station. The victim immediately called the railway emergency number. After this, the Railway Police became active and arrested the 47 year old accused on the complaint of the girl.
A senior police officer said that a team led by Police Inspector Sunil Gudler has arrested the accused. Police said that the accused Dattatreya Chavan is a resident of Maharashtra. He did this when the train reached Gokarna station in Karnataka. At the time of this incident on Tuesday morning, the girl was sleeping deeply.
