All train traffic in central Norway and north was stopped when the train control center was evacuated.

– The fire brigade moved and the danger is over. I don’t know anything more about whether there has been a fire. By all accounts, it was nothing dramatic, says press officer Olav Nordli in Bane Nor.

A train control center can be compared to an aircraft tower. There, the train conductor manages all train traffic within a geographical area.

Now at 08.35 Bane Nor reports that the situation has been clarified, but that delays must still be expected.

– The trains that have been standing for around 20 minutes will carry this delay with them throughout the day. But it will hopefully work out during the morning, says Nordli.

Train lines that may be affected by delays:

Dombås – Åndalsnes, Rauma line
Hamar – Trondheim S, Rørosbanen
Narvik / Áhkánjárga – Bjørnfjell / Bonjovárri – (Abisko Östra)
Narvik / Áhkánjárga – Stockholm, Ofotbanen
Støren – Steinkjer, Dovre and Nordlandsbanen
Trondheim S – Storlien, Meråkerbanen
Trondheim S – Bodø, Nordlandsbanen
Oslo S – Trondheim S, Dovrebanen
