Due to a collision on the track between Emmen-Zuid station and Emmen, train traffic between Zwolle and Emmen has been halted for the time being. The collision happened around 10:30 am.
After reporting the incident, several emergency services rushed to the Spehornerbrink in Emmen, where visibility screens were quickly installed. The train has been standing still over the viaduct above the Rondweg since the collision.
As a result of the incident, travelers cannot travel between Zwolle and Emmen until at least 1:15 p.m., the NS website reports. Anyone who wants to get from Zwolle to Emmen is advised to take the bus. Arriva uses buses.
