Train traffic disrupted between Ottignies and Brussels after an accident with a tractor

At around 10:15 a.m., a train connecting Louvain-la-Neuve and Bruxelles-Midi struck the trailer of a tractor which was partly on the tracks. A tractor-type construction machine, with a trailer, was making a U-turn along the rail tracks as part of the RER site, explains Infrabel. During the U-turn, the trailer found itself under the influence of the tracks and was struck by a train which linked Louvain-la-Neuve and Bruxelles-Midi.

The damaged train came to a stop at Hoeilaart station. No injuries were to be deplored and passengers were able to get off the train.

Only one track is available between Ottignies and Brussels, which suggests delays, warns Infrabel. The duration of the disruptions is unknown and depends on the damage to the train.
