Train traffic around Schiphol Airport will be disrupted for the next three weeks. Due to maintenance work, trains may not be able to run or may run less frequently. Passengers will also be more bothered by dust and noise.
The adjustments to the timetable may differ per day, NS warns. The company therefore advises travelers to keep an eye on the app or website. The work will last until Monday, December 4.
Most work takes place at night. The night trains to Leiden station will therefore not run. The NS uses buses. This also applies to the weekend of November 18 and 19: there will be no Intercity direct between Amsterdam and Rotterdam Central Station.
Travelers will also experience problems during the day. It is not known in advance how many trains will be canceled. According to the NS, travelers should take into account fifteen minutes of extra travel time.
The work is part of a major project that ProRail will be working on until 2028. In the coming weeks, the track along the platforms will be raised to make it easier for passengers to get on and off. Parts of the overhead lines, tracks and crossbeams will also be replaced.
