The American remake of the South Korean film Train to Busan will probably be called Last Train to New York. That indicates what the American manufacturers are planning in terms of localization.
Deadline revealed in a message about an Under Siege reboot that Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto will be making the Train to Busan remake and that it will be called Last Train to New York.
No other details of the remake have been revealed yet. The name only gives away where the movie will be set and since it’s a remake, the story won’t come as a surprise.
The original Train to Busan is about a father and daughter who travel from Seoul to Busan by train. Because of zombies, the two get stuck in the train and are forced to fight against the zombies.
Depending on the remake, Last Train to New York will run the train to New York City. It takes about three hours to travel from Seoul to Busan by train, so in America the train could come from Washington DC or Boston.
Director Tjanjanto has a talent for action and horror films and previously worked on The Night Comes for Us and May the Devil Take You.
