In Cheratte, a sub-municipality of Visé, an NMBS train hit a car on Friday evening. There were no passengers in the car at the time of the collision. Images of the incident are now circulating on social media.

The vehicle got stuck on the tracks, but the driver was able to escape from her car in time.
The train driver tried to brake but was unable to avoid the collision. No one was injured. Train traffic between Liège and Maastricht was interrupted for several hours. The NMBS therefore temporarily deployed replacement buses.
