Currently, 50 percent of the S-Bahn trains on the S5 lines at Frankfurt main station are canceled. There are also train delays on lines S3, S4 and RB 11.

Frankfurt – Half of all trains on the S-Bahn lines S5 around Frankfurt main station have stopped running since 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11th. The trains run regularly every 15 minutes, so there is currently only one train every half hour that travels the route. There are also train delays on lines S3, S4 and RB 11, as reported by the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsbund (RMV). The result: full trains and tracks, unpunctual arrivals and dissatisfaction among passengers.

According to the RMV, “an operational disruption of the infrastructure” is to blame for the outages. The specific reasons why rail traffic is currently stalled are not described. The question of how long the trains will run with restrictions is also not answered. The two words “Duration unknown” will have to suffice for the passengers for now.

There are also disruptions on the S-Bahn line S5 at Frankfurt Central Station at night

The S5 is particularly hard hit by the failures, as nighttime traffic is also restricted due to construction sites: maintenance work has been carried out on the route at night since January 1st. Every week on the nights from Sunday to Monday, the trains on the S5 line end and begin at midnight at the “Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof” station. The stops Frankfurt Süd, Frankfurt Lokalbahnhof, Frankfurt Ostendstraße, Frankfurt Konstablerwache, Frankfurt Hauptwache and Frankfurt Taunusanlage are completely omitted during these hours.

In addition, the section between “Bad Homburg Bahnhof” and “Friedrichsdorf Bahnhof” or “Frankfurt-Rödelheim Bahnhof” and “Friedrichsdorf Bahnhof” will be canceled every month on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, as the RMV writes in its changed timetable. Here the canceled trips will be replaced by buses. The outages are expected to last until December 3rd.

S3 and S4 S-Bahn trains at Frankfurt main station are also affected by nighttime disruptions

However, on lines S3 and S4 there will be train cancellations and diversions at night until November 28th: every week in the night from Monday to Tuesday, the S3 line will travel from “Frankfurt Südbahnhof” to “Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof” at 1:27 a.m. by a bus replaced. In addition, the train on line S3 with its scheduled departure at 4:05 a.m. in Darmstadt between “Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof” and “Frankfurt Stresemannallee” departs 7 minutes earlier. Every month on the night of Monday to Tuesday there will be no trips on lines S3 and S4 between “Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof” and “Langen Bahnhof”. These will also be served by replacement buses.
