An Arriva train collided with a scooter at a railway crossing on the Friesestraatweg in the city of Groningen on Saturday evening.

Check’s shared scooter was placed on the track, after which the train drove over it. That says the police, who speak of a ‘nauseous joke’.

‘Fear is good for the driver’
“I don’t have to tell you how scared the driver and the colleagues who walked down the track was if they found anyone else,” the police said on Instagram.

The police are also calling for witnesses: people who have seen something between 19:30 and 20:00 around the railway crossing on Friesestraatweg, or who have heard who is responsible for the act, are asked to come forward.

Track free again after blockage
Due to the collision, train traffic between the main station and Groningen-North was blocked for some time. The track was reopened around 9:00 PM.
