The regional mayor is against putting pegs in the middle of the new pavement
The mayor of the metropolitan region “Sredets” Traicho Traikov accused the municipal councilor from “Save Sofia” Boris Bonev that it was his idea to break up a sidewalk in the center of the capital.
“The other day I got a call from Karina Karanyotova that they were breaking up the nice wide sidewalk on Tsarigradsko shose before the Orlov bridge and putting pegs in the middle. I went to the place and it turned out that it was on assignment of the deputy mayor for transport of the city council. I talked to the director of Administration and analysis of the traffic and I learned that the pegs are placed at the express insistence of the municipal councilor Boris Bonev”, the mayor was outraged on social networks.
Traikov ordered the work to be suspended. He threatened that on Tuesday I will go to a meeting of the transport commission in the municipality, so that the case will be considered.
I don’t like these pegs at all, and when we repair a sidewalk, I write to the CGM not to put them back in, unless the residents insist or it’s really necessary, he explains.
