West Bandung – Julian Dwi Setiyono, was one of three victims who died in the train collision incident between KA 350 Commuter Line Bandung Raya and Pib 65A Turangga on Jalan Haurpugur-Cicalengka KM 181+700, Friday (5/1/2024).

Julian is a local KRD machinist in Greater Bandung. The 28-year-old man is registered as a resident of Bukit Permata E-8 Number 3, RT 2/RW 22, Cilame Village, Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency (KBB).

A yellow flag was displayed in front of Julian’s funeral home, which belonged to his parents. There were two bouquets of flowers expressing condolences for Julian’s death.

Tedi (54), the victim’s neighbor, was shocked to hear the news of Julian’s death in the incident in Cicalengka.

“At first I watched the news on TV, there was a train accident. Indeed, there I felt nervous in my heart, thinking that Mr. Julian was the driver,” said Tedi when met at the funeral home, Friday (5/1/2024).

He then went to Julian’s funeral home. There, he heard the cries of Julian’s family and neighbors. Until finally he received confirmation that Julian was the victim of the incident.

“So my wife confirmed (about Julian’s death). I immediately came again, his wife and family had been taken to Cicalengka accompanied by other neighbors,” said Tedi.

He and other residents immediately made preparations for the arrival of Julian’s body. Residents continued to come to Julian’s residence to express their condolences to the family.

“Residents are still waiting to put up tents. Many people have come, there is only his mother at home. The problem is his wife, his sister, and other neighbors in Cicalengka. The plan is to bury him here,” said Tedi.

It is planned that the late Julian will be buried in the Cilame TPU near his father’s grave.
