Yohanes Kidane immediately accepted work at Netflix after graduating from college, at the age of only 22 years. However, in mid-August when he had just moved from New York to the Netflix office to San Jose, he suddenly disappeared. Now, his body has been found.
Kidane was caught on security camera leaving his apartment building in downtown San Jose in mid-August, before he got into an Uber-marked vehicle.
“Two of his colleagues saw him and spoke to him. He said he was going to San Francisco to meet friends. The last footage I saw of him was leaving his apartment building and getting into a black Toyota Camry,” said his brother, Yosief.
His cell phone, wallet and backpack were found near the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. The location of Kidane’s cell phone shows him on the bridge the night he disappeared. Now, it is certain that he has died.
His body was found floating in the San Francisco Bay in a badly decomposed condition. A passing boat saw the body and reported it to the Coast Guard.
After an investigation by local authorities, his death was determined to be a suicide. However, it is not yet known what the motive was so that Kidane decided to end his life.
The Cornell University graduate’s body showed signs of “advanced decomposition, prolonged exposure to the aquatic environment, and considerable damage.”
Investigators initially could not identify him because he also did not have identification. Some time later, the coroner positively identified the body as Kidane and immediately notified the young engineer’s family.
