BRONX, New York.- Saida Xiomara Bonilla Mejía, 40, was found with several gunshot wounds to her torso inside an apartment in Bedford Park, in the Bronx, this Saturday morning. In the incident, her nephews, ages 8 and 16, were also injured. Hours later, she was pronounced dead and police arrested a man who lived at the same address.
The shooting occurred at 226 East 203rd Street near Grand Concourse this Saturday at 5:00 am
When authorities arrived, Saida was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:12 a.m.
The two minors who were also injured were taken to hospitals for medical attention and are expected to survive.
Some local reports identify Saida as a Honduran woman.
What is known about the accused
The NYPD identified the person accused of the shooting as Rosvin Mejía Castillo, 37. He and Saida lived together and were identified as boyfriends.
The defendant barricaded himself inside a building a few miles near the crime scene.
He was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault and six counts of possession of an illegal weapon.
Neighbors spoke to The New York Post and stated that an argument between a man and a woman was heard before the shooting.
Her brother spoke to CBS about what happened: “She got along with everyone, she didn’t deserve this… when he was living with my sister, no one came to my sister’s house because of him… I have no words to express.” how bad I feel because I was not here to protect my sister,” said Kalvin Mejía Reyes in said report.

- Pressure you to use drugs or alcohol.
- Intimidate him with threatening looks or actions.
- Degrading the way you raise your children or threatening to harm them or take away their children or pets.
- Intimidate you with firearms, knives, bats, pepper spray or other types of weapons.
- Destroy your belongings or your home.
