A person daughter initials R (10) with initials of the younger brother K (3) to die following being hit by a Fortuner car. Both died while trying to cross the street.
The incident occurred in Jalan Raya Pondok Gede, Makasar District, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/10) around 4:15 pm WIB. Police said the two victims were scavengers.
“Yes, that’s right (street sweepers). Two people died,” said East Jakarta AKBP subway police traffic chief Edy Surasa when contacted Wednesday (10/12/2022).

Edy said the accident started when the man-driven Fortuner car with the initials H (49) was driving from the direction of Pondok Gede to the minipark. On the spot, the victim was about to cross from south to north.
The driver, suspected of lack of concentration, did not see the victim in front of him. The two brothers were then hit by the front of the Fortuner’s car.
“Because of the neglect there, when the scavengers crossed the road from south to north, it is true through This is because driver neglect hit the right front bumper, ”Edy said.
Victim R was hit from the front of a Fortuner car. However, as he was carrying his sister, the older brother bounced around until his head hit the asphalt.
“One shot, but he brought his sister, he brought her, so it bounced,” he said.
The brothers were then rushed to hospital. However, their lives were not saved until their death.
This case is still handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Police. The driver who tricked the Fortuner into hitting the victim was arrested.
