Five people have been killed in a small plane accident in Poland. Another seven others were injured, reports Health Minister Niedzielski. The aircraft, a Cessna 208, crashed into a hangar of a skydive center in bad weather.
The accident happened in Chrcynno, which is about 45 kilometers northwest of the capital Warsaw.
The pilot of the plane was killed, as were four people who took shelter in the hangar from the storm, says a spokesman for the fire service. Of the seven injured, two were seriously injured. The spokesman calls bad weather the “probable cause” of the crash.
The injured were taken by helicopter to various hospitals in the region. Rescuers check the hangar for any other casualties.
The Polish police and judiciary are investigating the cause of the accident.
