Tragic news! At the age of 43, the defender died, and with Vsetín he intervened in his four championship seasons

Šafařík was a Vsetín offspring, and it was in his parent club that he started his career in the 1990s, ie in the golden era of Vsetín hockey. He got his first chance in the A-team in the 1996/97 season, the biggest space on the ice in the extra-league year 2001/2002, when he hit 37 duels for Vsetín.

In the highest competition, he also wore jerseys of Zlín and Pilsen. He played a total of 84 matches in the extraleague, in which he scored one goal and added eight assists. He also worked in the second highest competition in Brno, Třebíč, Olomouc, Chrudim, Havířov and Šumperk. One season he also played the highest Slovak competition for Slovan Bratislava.
