Tragic Murder in Munich: Refugee sentenced to life for fatal attack on man who housed her

This hospitality ended fatally: a refugee murdered a man in Munich. He had previously let her live with him.

Horrible act in Munich: A 52-year-old Ukrainian woman has been sentenced to life in prison for murder. The Munich regional court considered it proven that the defendant had fatally injured a man with multiple knife stabs in an argument in February 2023. She had been staying with the victim since she fled the war in her home country in 2022.

According to the verdict, during the argument the defendant also wanted to injure another man with the knife – but she failed. The verdict is therefore also attempted murder.

Man gets engaged – then he is killed

The defendant knew the man who was killed from a previous relationship. He therefore took her into his Munich apartment in March 2022. He assumed that the woman would only live with him temporarily. The court spokesman reported that she was very hesitant in trying to find an apartment. In December 2022, the man finally got engaged to another woman and therefore no longer wanted to let the 52-year-old stay with him.

The day before the fatal argument, the defendant is said to have scratched the man’s fiancée’s car. The man then asked his ex-wife and her son to speak to the 52-year-old. The court is convinced that this encounter ultimately led to the woman’s violent attack.

According to the spokesman, the defendant disrupted the hearing so much that she had to be taken out of the room after the verdict was announced. The judgment is not final.
