Naldo, a Brazilian defender who represented Sporting in 2015/2016, is mourning the death of his son Davi, aged 4, who lost his life following a road accident that occurred last month, on the 7th.
According to the Turkish newspaper ‘Fanatik’, Davi spent more than a month fighting for his life, having undergone surgery and, subsequently, being admitted to an Intensive Care Unit. He ended up not surviving.
Antalyaspor, the club that Naldo currently represents, has already mourned the boy’s death on social media, similar to Sporting, which has also expressed its regret. “Sporting Clube de Portugal expresses its regret at the death of Davi, son of former defender Leonino Naldo. To his family and friends, and especially to Naldo, our deepest condolences and great strength to overcome this moment of enormous pain”, can be read in the message of the lions.
