Tragic Loss: Former Sheffield United Defender George Baldock Found Dead at 31 in Swimming Pool

Former Sheffield United defender George Baldock has died aged 31, after the Greece international was found dead in a swimming pool at his home in Glyfada, south of Athens.
The England-born winger signed for Panathinaikos in the summer after a seven-year stint at Bramall Lane, where he made his debut in August The full-back, who was not selected in Greece’s squad against England Thursday, part in the game, which ended in a goalless draw on Sunday with Olympiacos.
“The entire Super League family expresses their sadness at the sudden loss of Panathinaikos and our national team player George Baldock, and extends our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, “said a statement issued by the Greek Super League.
Baldock was born in England, has Greek citizenship, and represented the country’s national team. He also played for Oxford United and Tamworth.
