Tragic Incident: Five Skiers Found Dead in Alps, Swiss – Search for Missing Person Continues

At least five people are skier cross country found dead in Alps Swiss, after being reported missing since the weekend. One other person remains missing with search operations continuing.

As reported AFPMonday (11/3/2024), a group of skiers aged between 21 years and 58 years, left Zermatt on Saturday (9/3) morning local time with the aim of reaching the city of Arolla on the same day.

However, according to local authorities, they were reported missing around Mount Tete Blanche.

Valais regional police said in a statement that a storm hit at the weekend, preventing helicopters and rescue teams from reaching the area.

However, on Sunday (10/3) evening, a rescue team was successfully deployed via helicopter to the area.

“At around 21.20 local time, rescue teams reached the Tete Blanche sector, where they found five bodies of the six missing people,” said a statement from the Valais regional police on Monday (11/3) local time.
