A family from Solok Regency, West Sumatra, was found died in the car during the Eid trip to a relative’s house in Bungo, Jambi. One family is thought to have died as a result of inhaling toxins from the car’s air conditioner when they were stuck on a muddy road.
Bungo Police Chief AKBP Singgih Hermawan confirmed the incident. He said the incident occurred on the road in Limbur Village, Limbur Lubuk Mengkuang District, Friday (12/4) at around 21.30 WIB.
“It’s true, four bodies were found, three men and one woman, in Xenia’s car on Jalan Dusun Limbur Baru (Sp5), Limbur Lubuk Mengkuang District, Bungo Regency,” said Singgih as reported by detikSumbagselSaturday (13/4/2024).
The four victims consisted of a husband and wife and two children. They are Masrial (54), Nuryanti Lisma (53), Vanggi (15), and Fattan Azizait (9).
Singgih explained that one family came from Alahan Panjang, West Sumatra. They planned to spend Eid and meet their relatives in the PT SMA area, Limbur Lubuk Mengkuang District.
“Then the victim’s brother-in-law, Wadi Sepentri, went after the victim and found the victim’s car slumped in a hole with the engine still running. The exhaust hole of the car was submerged in water and the windshield of the car was closed and the rear window of the car was open about 5 cm,” he explained.
