Tragic Fire in Jakarta Kills Seven Victims – Latest News Update

The victim died as a result fire frame shop on Jalan Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, with a total of seven people. The deceased was found on the second floor of the shop building.

“Seven victims were found dead,” Mampang Prapatan Police Chief, Police Commissioner David Y Kanitero, told detikcomFriday (19/4/2024).

The identities of the deceased victims are as follows:

1. Thang Tjiman, a 75-year-old man
2. Heni, a 39 year old woman
3. Riichi age 2 years
4. Austin is 8 years old
5. Tia is a woman about 25 years old
6. Shella is about 20 years old
7. Jesika is 18 years old.

David said that the seven victims were found when firefighters were cooling down. All seven were found in one room on the 2nd floor.

“The victim, who was dead, was found in a room on the 2nd floor,” he said.

At the same time, the number of shooting victims was five. Currently the five are receiving intensive care in the hospital.

It is known that this fire was reported to have happened at 19.24 WIB, Thursday (18/4). The cause of the fire is believed to be an explosion of a compressor​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ has started when one of the employees of the store exploded gasoline and then struck a spark until the fire started.
