Tragic Fire in Brooklyn Claims Lives of Mother and Two Daughters

A mother and her two daughters died in a fire in Brooklyn.

The fire was in a third-floor apartment at about 5 am Friday at 587 Gates Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The mother and two children were pronounced dead at Woodhull University Hospital.

The mother was 40 years old and the daughters were 8 and 10.

Three other people were injured and were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters have the fire under control.
