Actress Emilia Hovhannesyan died in a fire at her home. The fire broke out at midnight on Friday in bl. 13 in the residential complex “New Center” in Smolyan.
The fire started from the apartment of the 67-year-old actress, who died in the flames, announced the head of the fire department, Senior Commissioner Simeon Tsrvulanov. The body was found in one of the rooms.

“All of them are on oxygen therapy. Their condition is stable and there is no danger to their lives. The last two floors of the apartment building were damaged by the fire. Eyewitnesses say that within minutes the entrance was filled with thick smoke, and one of the upper floors was on fire, so people were trapped.
The causes of the fire are under investigation.
“A close friend, with whom we started our journey together in this art, has left. Emilia was a person extremely devoted to the theater. Only now will it be understood how great she was,” said Culture Minister Krastyo Krastev, who worked with Hovhannesyan for 25 years. in the Rhodope Drama Theater.
