Fire at the New Orange Karaoke entertainment venue in Tegal City, six female song guides or lady companions (LC) were killed. The cause of the fire is thought to be a short circuit.
This was revealed after the General Criminal Investigation Team (Reskrimum) and Central Java Police Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) carried out a crime scene investigation at the fire location, Jalan Veteran, Tegal City. The police carried out a crime scene investigation (TKP) on Monday (15/1) afternoon.
They carried out a crime scene investigation to determine the cause of the fire which killed six people and injured nine others. Preliminary results indicate that the fire was sparked by a short circuit which burned down the roof of the prayer room on the third floor.
“It is possible that temporarily due to a short circuit, the roof of the prayer room on the third floor caught fire,” said Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Central Java Regional Police, AKBP Agus Endro Wibowo. detikJatengTuesday (16/1/2024).
Endro said the fire came from the roof of the prayer room on the third floor of the building. Even though the fire did not spread, it released quite a lot of smoke. This smoke cannot escape because the building has minimal ventilation.
“The fire didn’t spread, only the smoke. It is suspected that there was a lot of thick smoke, possibly from burning cables in damper walls or something else. So the smell was strong,” said Endro.
