A 24-year-old cyclist from Brasschaat was killed in a serious traffic accident in Meer bij Hoogstraten on Friday evening.
The accident happened near the intersection of Blauwputten and Tolberg. A truck hit the cyclist. The victim suffered a serious head injury and died on the spot a short time later.
A traffic expert was sent to the scene to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The driver of the truck was a 29-year-old man from Meer. A drug and alcohol test were both negative. Blauwputten remained closed to traffic during the observations.
