Epiphany tragedy: A 33-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman left a Viennese disco on Schönbrunner Strasse in the early hours of the morning. They were then hit by a car on the street.

The 33-year-old and the 24-year-old crossed the street together in front of a Viennese disco on Schönbrunner Straße at 3 a.m. According to the police, they were crossing the protective path at a red light when they were hit by a car. The driver is a 73-year-old pensioner.
Died at the scene of the accident
The 33-year-old suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision and died at the scene. The 24-year-old received emergency medical care from the Vienna professional rescue service with serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The car driver, however, remained uninjured.
Investigations are ongoing
The traffic accident command of the Vienna State Transport Department took over the investigation into the accident on site. Further investigations are being carried out by the responsible police station.
