The artist passed away at the age of 52.
One of the main works of Nikolai Eremenko was the adventure film “Pirates of the 20th century”, where he played the role of mechanic Sergei Sergeevich. Fans showered the artist with compliments and were sure that he would delight them with new roles until the end of his days. However, the life of the artist was completely different.
The fact is that before the collapse of the USSR, Eremenko was a very popular artist. He starred in several projects a year and worked with the best directors. But the crisis, which came not only in the country, but also in the industry, left the actor without work.
Eremenko, who was distinguished by diligence, could not cope with life’s difficulties. He began to abuse alcohol, and over time it turned into a serious addiction.
And one day the actor became ill. His last lover Lyudmila tried to call the doctors, but Eremenko forbade it, as he was intoxicated. As a result, the artist was taken to the Botkin hospital with a stroke, where he died without regaining consciousness.
