The head of the Buenos Aires IVC, Carlos Pedrini, was found dead in his home in the city of Buenos Aires. He was a key official in the PRO due to the coordination with social movements.
Pedrini came to the Buenos Aires government during Jorge Telerman’s administration. He was later sponsored by Carolina Stanley and María Eugenia Vidal and was appointed director of the General Directorate of the Social Economy in 2008.
From that direction he managed to improve the government’s relationship with the popular neighborhoods and achieved electoral growth for the government in territories that had been historically elusive with the PRO.
After several years of Buenos Aires management, he accompanied Stanley as Vice Minister of Social Development of the Nation until the end of Mauricio Macri’s government.
With the change in management, Pedrini returned to the City and was in charge of part of the territorial assembly for Horacio Rodriguez Larreta’s campaign. In 2023, the head of Government appointed him as head of the Housing Institute and then he continued after the inauguration of Jorge Macri.
Pedrini was a low-profile official, unknown to the general public, but key when it came to articulating with social movements. He was 49, suffered from a long illness and was found dead at his home on Tuesday.
