Tragic Drowning Incident in New York’s Fishkill Creek: Woman Falls While Posing for Picture

A 42-year-old woman drowned in New York’s Fishkill Creek, a tributary of the Hudson Riverafter falling while someone was taking a picture of her.

Beacon Fire Chief Tom Lucches in Dutchess County told the media that a witness at the scene witnessed the victim, Sukanya Basu, slipping and falling down an embankment at approximately 6:40 pm on Tuesday the 18th.

Fire department units arrived on the scene within 60 seconds and immediately began searching for the victim in the area of ​​50 Leonard St. The woman was found unconscious at the bottom of a 15-foot embankment and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
